Guyson International Limited is a privately owned family company with a world-wide reputation for excellence in the design and manufacture of blast finishing, spray wash and ultrasonic cleaning equipment - as well as being the UK supplier for all your hose and coupling requirements.

Guyson were formed on May 20th 1938 and this year are 75 years old, the company is registered to BS EN ISO 9001: 2008 and our head office is located at Skipton, North Yorkshire, in the north of England.

Operations

On this impressive 10,000 square metre site we design and manufacture all our bead blast, spray wash and 'Kerry' ultrasonic cleaning equipment. You will also find under the same roof our well-equipped sales, testing and demonstration facilities, as well as central warehousing and distribution for all spare parts and blast media.

Our committed Customer Service and Technical Support team welcomes visitors to Skipton (left) from the UK and world-wide. They are also delighted to provide helpful advice by telephone or email on all blast, wash, ultrasonic precision cleaning and degreasing applications and products, together with delivering full technical support, both pre and post sale.

The Guyson International Limited specialist Hose & Couplings Division (right) is located in Guiseley near Leeds (see contact page). From here we supply both the full range of Kaptech hose assemblies and also Hansen and Gromelle couplings. Guyson Corporation of the USA (left) is a design, manufacturing and distribution operation based in Saratoga Springs NY, focussing on the supply of bead blast and spray washing equipment, spares and consumables together with an aftersales service operation. (see contact page for address details).

 

 

Guyson SA (right) is a sales and distribution operation with its own customer test and demonstration facilities, based at Le Mesnil Amelot which is located close to Charles de Gaulle airport and main motorway networks just outside Paris. This operation sells the full range of blast, ultrasonic cleaning and spray washing equipment, spares and consumables. (see contact page for address details).

Guyson Sdn Bhd, operates from two sales and service offices in Penang, Malasia and in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China. This operation offers blast, ultrasonic cleaning and spray washing equipment, spares and consumables.

Company History

1938  Guyson Industrial Equipment Limited formed by Robert Thomson, with investment from his uncle Guyatt, to manufacture and sell blast equipment, consumables and other garage equipment.

1939  Agreement made with Hansen Manufacturing Company, USA to market and distribute Hansen quick-release hose couplings in the UK and Ireland.

1953 James F. Thomson joined the company focusing his activities on exporting surface finishing equipment and establishing European and USA distribution networks.

1964  The Hansen Couplings Division formed as a separate division to focus on sales of Hansen quick-release hose couplings.

1976 Guyson Corporation of America formed as a 100% subsidiary to manufacture and supply blast cleaning equipment into the Americas.

1980s  Expansion of manufacturing capabilities took place, including the establishment of new premises in the UK at Skipton, and a significant extension in the USA.

1991  James Thomson succeeded his father as Managing Director of the company.

1992  The Hansen Couplings Division adds the Gromelle coupling products to its range.

1993  The Hansen Couplings Division moves to a separate dedicated site.

1994  Marr Engineering acquired, giving expansion of the product offering into surface treatment markets with the addition of aqueous degreasing systems to the range.

1997  The Hansen Couplings Division moves to a new purpose built site with a view to expanding operations.

1998  Acquisition of Guyson’s French distributor to form Guyson SA, a new 100% subsidiary selling and distributing Guyson products in the French and Francophone markets.

1999  Acquisition of Kaptech Hose Limited, a manufacturer of specialist flexible hose assemblies, takes place to augment the Hansen Couplings Division. Operations are integrated to form the Hose & Couplings Division. 

2004  Acquisition of Kerry Ultrasonics Limited, to further expand the surface treatment processes offered to the customer base.

2005  Guyson Sdn Bhd was formed in Malaysia with a representative office in Wuxi, China, to support the customer base in the Far East markets.

2011  The Hose & Couplings Division adds Eaton Hydraulics products to its range.

2013  Guyson are 75 Years old - started May 20th 1938.
