    Saftimetal

Guyson Saftimetal is a high quality, chilled hematite cast iron abrasive with excellent performance characteristics.

Throughout its use, the grit remains sharp edged and will produce a clean and bright surface finish. This product has a superior service life than standard chilled iron and with its slow breakdown rate, dust problems are minimal. It is also referred to as angular iron grit.

Saftimetal would generally be used in wheel/ turbine or pressure blast systems and is much harder than the equivalent Turbogrit steel abrasive.

    Applications

General engineering, surface treatment and refurbishment applications. Saftimetal is ideal for the removal of corrosion, paint, weld scale etc. and the preparation of surfaces prior to painting, bonding etc.

    Turbogrit

Guyson Turbogrit is heat-treated carbon steel grit, produced by crushing oversized shot pellets. When new, this product is angular but during use, the sharp edges will become round. This allows the blasting process to combine the mass effect of shot with the cutting edge of grit.

Turbogrit would generally be used in wheel/turbine or pressure blast systems, but some of the smaller grits could also be used in suction feed systems.

    Applications

General engineering, surface treatment and refurbishment applications. Turbogrit is ideal for the removal of corrosion, paint, weld scale etc. and the preparation of surfaces prior to painting, bonding etc.

    Turbobead

Guyson Turbobead is heat-treated carbon steel bead with a uniform Martensitic structure. This provides excellent resilience and resistance to fatigue. The rounded shape remains during use and the shot multiplies its effectiveness during blasting due to the ricochet effect. Wear on blast equipment is minimised and the media itself has an excellent blast life.

Turbobead would generally be used in wheel/turbine or pressure blast systems, but some of the smaller beads could also be used in suction feed systems.

    Applications

Cleaning, deburring and preparing ferrous surfaces. Reconditioning. Shot peening.

    Flexgrain

Guyson Flexgrain is a specially produced soft iron bead with exceptional cleaning properties. The rounded shape remains during use and the shot multiplies its effectiveness during blasting due to the ricochet effect. The non-aggressive nature of the product allows it to be used for gentle removal of surface deposits without damage to sensitive substrates. Wear on blast equipment is minimised and the media itself has an excellent blast life, which reduces dust to very low levels.

Flexgrain would generally be used in wheel/turbine or pressure blast systems, but is still effective when used in suction feed systems.

    Applications

Cleaning and reconditioning without dimensional change e.g. mould and die cleaning. Also carbon and light corrosion removal.

    Flexgrit

Guyson Flexgrit is a specially produced soft iron bead with exceptional cleaning properties. The rounded shape appears more obvious during use as the media becomes conditioned and the shot multiplies its effectiveness during blasting due to the ricochet effect. The non-aggressive nature of the product allows it to be used for gentle removal of surface deposits without damage to sensitive substrates. Wear on blast equipment is minimised and the media itself has an excellent blast life, which reduces dust to very low levels.

Flexgrit would generally be used in wheel/turbine or pressure blast systems.

    Applications

Cleaning and reconditioning without dimensional change e.g. mould and die cleaning. Also carbon and light corrosion removal.

    Turbonox

Guyson Turbonox is austenitic (chromium and nickel) stainless steel shot produced by water atomisation of molten steel, with subsequent sieving and thermal/ mechanical treatment.

Turbonox would generally be used in wheel/ turbine or pressure blast systems.

    Applications

Cleaning, deburring and finishing all non - ferrous surfaces wherever ferrous embedding would cause discolouration or trace surface corrosion.

    Alusad

Guyson Alusad is a bright aluminium granulate of spherical shape free from slag inclusions. It is degassed and refined in a controlled melting operation to produce a high quality, if rather specialised blast medium.

Due to its light, soft characteristics, Alusad causes minimal wear to all blast systems and the product itself has a long abrasive life.

Alusad would generally be used in wheel/ turbine or pressure blast systems, but some of the smaller beads could also be used in suction feed systems.

    Applications

Bright cleaning of aluminium components, which may be damaged by denser stainless steel media.

    Turbolloy

Guyson Turbolloy is a specially produced cut wire product manufactured from brass wire. There are limited applications and this product is not specified very often, partly due to its high cost.

Turbolloy would generally be used in wheel/turbine or pressure blast systems, but is still effective when used in suction feed systems.

    Applications

Treatment of copper or brass components to give a bright sheen finish after forging or forging prior to further finishing processes such as plating or polishing.
