LARGE COMPONENTS BLASTED

Euroblast® system handles parts of up to 500 kilos

Guyson Euroblast® 2m cabinet with side loader and turntable The need to replace a former blast room facility and at the same time provide a safe and clean workshop environment were two considerations leading to the installation of the largest manually operated blast cleaning cabinet produced by Guyson International.

The machine has a blast chamber with a floor area of 2000mm by 2000mm and includes a 1500mm diameter turntable with special facilities for loading, handling and processing which provide the operator with numerous options.

Components and fabrications measuring up to 1500mm wide by 1500mm deep by 1000mm high and weighing up to 500 kilos can be accommodated, efficiently handled and surface finished using the newly developed Guyson Euroblast® 2 metre PF pressure blast system.

Standing on a grille floored platform protected by a safety rail, the operator can choose from a number of different working positions. Four armholes fitted with protective rubber gauntlets are positioned on two levels to provide convenient, comfortable access to all component surface areas inside the blast chamber. Fabricated items are loaded and unloaded through the right hand side door carried on the 1500mm diameter trolley mounted turntable located on a twin track side loader which can accept components by hoist, using a centrally positioned roof slot, or directly by fork lift. Once inside the blast chamber components either suspended by hoist or free standing can be easily rotated by hand using the turntable during blast cleaning.

Interior illumination is boosted by the installation of four extra bulkhead lights positioned inside the chamber around the large viewing window in addition to the usual pair of overhead roof lights. Rubber lining protects the interior of the cabinet from the effects of the high impact particle velocities produced by the direct pressure system.

The blast machine is powered by a large capacity pressure vessel fitted with an integrated cyclone complemented by an automatic dust collector. The complete installation provides the high efficiency blast cleaning performance required whilst simultaneously recycling the blast media and removing dust and debris, which is retained within the system to provide a clean and safe workshop environment.
