Turbocharger components are often reconditioned by shot blasting in Guyson Euroblast pressure fed blast cabinets, prior to their rebuild and re-assembly. The most common form of blast media used for this process is Turbobead (steel shot), for the initial clean and carbon removal, followed by glass beads for a final cosmetic finish.

After grinding, in original component manufacture, feather burrs left on the blade tips of Inconel Alloy turbocharger hot end wheels can be removed by controlled automated blasting with Guyson Turbonox stainless steel bead blast media, which also delivers a desirable cosmetic finish but without any critical dimensional change.
