JOB VACANCY: Field Sales Engineer - South East of England

In support of its growth plan, Guyson International Limited, leading British manufacturer of industrial finishing equipment including manual and fully automated or robotic solutions, is looking for an additional Sales Engineer to grow sales in the South East of England

Location: Home based, ideally accessible to M25

Territory: From: Berkshire, Hampshire, South Greater London, Surrey, Kent, Sussex, Hertford, Bucks, and Essex (depending on home base)

Reports to: UK Field Sales Manager

Responsible for: Sales of Guyson capital equipment, consumables, spares and services to a wide variety of industrial customers

Bonus scheme: Commission on all equipment sales.

Key skills and responsibilities:

  • Proven sales acumen and business development skills, selling into the engineering, manufacturing and MRO sectors.
  • Proven experience in pro-actively developing new opportunities and maintaining long term business relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills, with ability to present confidently technical solutions at all levels. 
  • Good technical background and engineering knowledge with the ability to describe and report a technical or production process to Guyson engineering department for evaluation and costing
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills. Typically using one office day per week, must be able to organise and plan productive sales activities; including visiting new and existing customers, following up leads and prospecting.  
  • Must be computer literate - capable of using Guyson CRM system, which involves maintaining good and comprehensive records, inputting data, updating account information and uploading relevant documentation. 
  • Proven target driven approach, capable of working towards a sales budget. Must provide accurate information through CRM relating to activities, number of leads, open opportunities and sales forecast on a day to day basis
  • Ability to adhere to Guyson company policies and processes, health and safety requirements and Company Handbook.

This role will suit someone with a strong interest in engineering particularly British manufactured equipment which will complement;

  • A confident sales engineer keen to develop and advance the territory.

Job Vacancy: Works Trainee

A person is required to train in all aspects of Industrial Hose & Coupling assembly, and become a key member of our team at our Guiseley site.

Main Initial Duties

  • Fabrication of all types of hose assembly in accordance with works instructions.
  • Pressure testing of all completed hose assemblies.
  • Marking / engraving of completed hose assemblies and couplings
  • Conversion / testing of quick release couplings
  • Packing of completed hose assemblies / couplings.
  • Preparation of metallic hose assemblies for our existing welders.
  • Checking of incoming goods.
  • Storage & picking of components.

Training & Conditions

  • Full on the job training will be provided along with progressive pay & conditions.
  • This position is subject to a 3 month trial period.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • No job specific knowledge & skills are required at this stage. 
  • An interest in mechanical engineering assembly.
  • An aptitude for ‘hands on’ manual work is essential.
  • A level of physical fitness to be able to manipulate loads up to Health & Safety limits.
  • A flexible approach towards workload & duties is required.

Additional Skills that may be of Benefit

  • A full UK driving licence would be an advantage, but not essential at this stage.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced:

Field Service Engineer

Location: Home Based - England  

Salary: competitive, depending on experience & qualifications, plus overtime. 

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our client’s successful team based within West Midlands.

Who are we looking for?
As the ideal candidate you will have experience in electrical, mechanical and pneumatics and hold an Electrical City & Guilds 2365 level 2 & 3 or equivalent qualification. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to read and understand engineering drawings along with electrical drawings, to aid in fault finding and functionality.

Additional skills and experience include:

  • PLC & HMI programming essential
  • Refrigeration handling (City & Guilds 2019 or CITB J11-14; or an equivalent European qualification)
  • Pipework brazing experience would be an advantage
  • Robotics programming skills would be an advantage
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, ability to work alone and as part of a team

About the role
Reporting to the Field Service Manager, as Field Service Engineer you will commission and undertake preventative maintenance, service, repair for all types of Company machines covering a very wide range of applications and will also provide training to our customers.

You will be home based to cover the West Midlands area of England, however extensive travel throughout the UK and overseas will be required, thus flexibility in working hours is expected.

Basic working hours will be 37.5 per week

This position will be subject to a 3 month trial period.

You duties will include:

  • To carryout commissioning / installation / servicing and repairs to all Company products
  • To train the customers’ production and maintenance teams, both in operation of the machines to achieve their particular application, also in planned maintenance and basic trouble shooting
  • To provide product improvement and new machine sales opportunity feedback
  • To communicate effectively with your colleagues in field service planning, commercial and engineering departments
  • To be able to deal confidently and professionally with customer personnel on site
  • To report accurately and on a timely basis on all service visits, with accountability for van stocks of components and spare parts
  • To account accurately and on a timely basis for expenses incurred

Area Sales Manager - North East & Scotland Sales Territory

Location: Yorkshire/North East

Salary: Competitive Salary & Commission, Company Car and Company Benefits

Guyson’s Hose & Couplings Division require an experienced field-based Area Sales Manager to cover the North East of England and Scotland sales territory.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The main requirement of the role is to personally manage, promote and grow profitable sales of the Division’s products in the territory to existing and prospective customers, managing time effectively between visiting existing customers while continuously targeting new accounts in order to meet or exceed set targets.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Based in Yorkshire/North East, the candidate will ideally have experience in flexible hose and couplings or other fluid handling products and a good understanding of fluid handling applications. The Division’s products are sold to the chemical, pharmaceutical, nuclear, food, brewing, dairy, aerospace, MOD, steel, oil/gas industries along with sales to other general manufacturing industries.

Experience of technical field sales and knowledge of these industries in the area are key to the position. A mechanical engineering qualification or background would be advantageous.

The candidate should have excellent communication skills, experience in face-to-face sales negotiations at all levels and the ability to assess and accurately record and report customers technical and commercial requirements.

The position also requires a mature, professional attitude, high level of self-management, discipline, organisation and a willingness to undertake a considerable workload.
