Guyson was formed over 80 years ago, on May 20th 1938, the company is registered to BS EN ISO 9001: 2015, and its Skipton based finishing equipment division has also recently been awarded BS OHSAS 18001:2007; our head office and Finishing Equipment Division is located at Skipton, North Yorkshire. The Hose and Couplings Division is based near Leeds, West Yorkshire.

A position has become available at Guyson International Ltd for a:

Senior Electrical Design Engineer


Define and develop electrical design solutions across the following Guyson product range:

  • Shot blasting systems.
  • Spray wash systems.
  • Ultrasonic wash systems.


  • Electrical design input of machine builds as required.
  • Produce electrical schematic drawings within SolidWorks Electrical 2D
  • Compile and structure BOM within the company ERP system.
  • Ensure System design & drawings inspection prior to release.
  • Provide feedback and rectify engineering drawings & Bill of Material errors.
  • Adhere to customer URS (User Requirement Specifications).
  • Attend production and design meetings as required.
  • Any task that is within your skill set and capabilities throughout the Company.


Essential Skills

  • Experience in using an electrical design software package, ideally SolidWorks electrical 2D, (or demonstrate the ability to learn Solidworks Electrical).
  • Should have worked within a manufacturing environment and have strong controls and system integration knowledge.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC control systems in terms of electrical design requirements.
  • Educated to degree level in electrical engineering or HND (/similar) with relevant work experience.
  • Knowledgeable in electrical design within a machine build environment.
  • Previous involvement in producing multilevel bill of materials (BOMS).
  • Good communications skills, with ability to communicate clearly to all levels from shop floor through to senior management.
  • Work to all current Health & Safety, environmental, quality, industrial specific and company standards.

Advantageous Skills

  • PLC programming capabilities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO 13849 control system functional safety calculations and risks assessments. Previous experience of producing these would be highly desirable.

This is a permanent position, subject to a 3 month trial period.

Job Vacancy: Field Sales Engineer - South East of England

In support of its growth plan, Guyson International Limited, leading British manufacturer of industrial finishing equipment including manual and fully automated or robotic solutions, is looking for an additional Sales Engineer to grow sales in the South East of England

Location: Home based, ideally accessible to M25.

Territory: From: Berkshire, Hampshire, Greater London, Surrey, Kent, Sussex, Hertford, Bucks, Essex, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk (depending on home base).

Reports to: UK Field Sales Manager

Responsible for: Sales of Guyson capital equipment, consumables, spares and services to a wide variety of industrial customers.

Salary/Bonus Scheme: Competitive basic salary with commission paid on all equipment sales.

Key skills and responsibilities:

  • Proven sales acumen and business development skills, selling into the engineering, manufacturing and MRO sectors.
  • Proven experience in pro-actively developing new opportunities and maintaining long term business relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills, with ability to present confidently technical solutions at all levels.
  • Good technical background and engineering knowledge with the ability to describe and report a technical or production process to Guyson engineering department for evaluation and costing.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills. Typically using one office day per week, must be able to organise and plan productive sales activities; including visiting new and existing customers, following up leads and prospecting.
  • Must be computer literate - capable of using Guyson CRM system, which involves maintaining good and comprehensive records, inputting data, updating account information and uploading relevant documentation.
  • Proven target driven approach, capable of working towards a sales budget. Must provide accurate information through CRM relating to activities, number of leads, open opportunities and sales forecast on a day to day basis
  • Ability to adhere to Guyson company policies and processes, health and safety requirements and Company Handbook.

Job Vacancy: Field Service Engineer

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced

Field Service Engineer

Location: Home Based - South East England

Who are we looking for?

As the ideal candidate you will have experience in electrical, mechanical and pneumatics and hold an Electrical City & Guilds 2365 level 2 & 3 or equivalent qualification. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to read and understand engineering drawings along with electrical drawings, to aid in fault finding and functionality.

Additional skills and experience include:

  • PLC & HMI programming essential
  • Refrigeration handling (City & Guilds 2019 or CITB J11-14; or an equivalent European qualification)
  • Pipework brazing experience would be an advantage
  • Robotics programming skills would be an advantage
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, ability to work alone and as part of a team

About the role:

Reporting to the Field Service Manager, as Field Service Engineer you will commission and undertake preventative maintenance, service, repair for all types of Company machines covering a very wide range of applications and will also provide training to our customers.

You will be home based to cover South East England, however extensive travel throughout the UK and overseas will be required, thus flexibility in working hours is expected.

Basic working hours will be 37.5 per week

This position will be subject to a 3 month trial period.

You duties will include:

  • To carryout commissioning / installation / servicing and repairs to all Company products.
  • To train the customers’ production and maintenance teams, both in operation of the machines to achieve their particular application, also in planned maintenance and basic trouble shooting.
  • To provide product improvement and new machine sales opportunity feedback.
  • To communicate effectively with your colleagues in field service planning, commercial and engineering departments.
  • To be able to deal confidently and professionally with customer personnel on site.
  • To report accurately and on a timely basis on all service visits, with accountability for van stocks of components and spare parts.
  • To account accurately and on a timely basis for expenses incurred.
