A position has become available at Guyson International Ltd for an:-

Electrical Design Engineer


Provide electrical design and specification across Guyson’s product portfolio
range:-  Shot blasting systems, Spray wash systems, Ultrasonic wash systems.


  • Provide electrical design input within the Engineering design team.
  • Produce electrical schematics and panel layouts to meet system specifications.
  • Produce and maintain BOM’s corresponding with the electrical design withheld in Guyson’s ERP system.
  • Support the manufacturing team with BOM and Design related issues to meet the required build schedule across all projects.
  • Provide feedback to fellow design engineers of any continuous improvements.
  • Work to all health & safety, environmental, quality and company standards.
  • Support / Instruct new or less experienced electrical operatives.
  • Provide cover for electrical design engineers as required.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and tidy working environment.
  • Maintain a professional, well presented attitude and appearance at all times.
  • Electrical design input of machine builds as required.
  • Produce electrical schematic drawings within SolidWorks Electrical 2D
  • Compile and structure BOM within the company ERP system. 
  • Ensure System design & drawings inspection prior to release.
  • Provide feedback and rectify engineering drawings & bill of material errors.
  • Adhere to customer URS (User Requirement Specifications).
  • Attend production and design meetings as required.
  • Any task that is within your skill set and capabilities throughout the Company.


  • Experience in using electrical design package preferably SolidWorks electrical 2D.
  • Worked within a manufacturing environment having strong systems integration knowledge.
  • Understanding of Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC control systems.
  • Educated to degree level with electrical engineering qualification or able to demonstrate though previous positions the ability to meet the electrical design engineer’s requisite.
  • Knowledgeable in electrical design within a machine build environment.
  • Involvement in producing multilevel bill of materials (BOMS)
  • Able to communicate clearly too all levels.
  • Work to all health & Safety, environmental, quality and company standards.

This is a permanent position, subject to a 3 month trial period.

Field Service Engineer

Location: Home Based - England  

Salary: competitive, depending on experience & qualifications, plus overtime. 

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our client’s successful team based within West Midlands.

Who are we looking for?
As the ideal candidate you will have experience in electrical, mechanical and pneumatics and hold an Electrical City & Guilds 2365 level 2 & 3 or equivalent qualification. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to read and understand engineering drawings along with electrical drawings, to aid in fault finding and functionality.

Additional skills and experience include:

  • PLC & HMI programming essential
  • Refrigeration handling (City & Guilds 2019 or CITB J11-14; or an equivalent European qualification)
  • Pipework brazing experience would be an advantage
  • Robotics programming skills would be an advantage
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, ability to work alone and as part of a team

About the role
Reporting to the Field Service Manager, as Field Service Engineer you will commission and undertake preventative maintenance, service, repair for all types of Company machines covering a very wide range of applications and will also provide training to our customers.

You will be home based to cover the West Midlands area of England, however extensive travel throughout the UK and overseas will be required, thus flexibility in working hours is expected.

Basic working hours will be 37.5 per week

This position will be subject to a 3 month trial period.

You duties will include:

  • To carryout commissioning / installation / servicing and repairs to all Company products
  • To train the customers’ production and maintenance teams, both in operation of the machines to achieve their particular application, also in planned maintenance and basic trouble shooting
  • To provide product improvement and new machine sales opportunity feedback
  • To communicate effectively with your colleagues in field service planning, commercial and engineering departments
  • To be able to deal confidently and professionally with customer personnel on site
  • To report accurately and on a timely basis on all service visits, with accountability for van stocks of components and spare parts
  • To account accurately and on a timely basis for expenses incurred
